This year's theme – “Nature’s Canvas: The Shoreline and Us," was inspired by recent conversations about the future of Chicago's lakefront as well as recent Dune Restoration efforts taking place near the wall. When the community gathers to consider future lakefront planning, what questions do we ask? How do Chicagoans make their voices heard? What is the Lakefront Protection Ordinance – and what does it really protect? What does Lake Michigan mean to Rogers Park? To all of Chicago? To neighboring Great Lakes states? What are today's political leaders doing to protect the one resource that Chicago’s city fathers determined should be open to all residents? Courtesy of RogersPark.com .
